Meeting of the Chairpersons of the Committees on climate and energy ”Zero-emission energy production: towards EU’s competitiveness and security”, 13-14 April 2025
The Zero-emission energy production: towards EU’s competitiveness and security interparliamentary conference will provide an opportunity to discuss necessary directions for EU actions in the context of the energy transition and deployment of zero-emission energy. These actions may become the driving force for other branches of the industry and services in the EU, and thus increase the competitiveness of the EU economy and security of Europe. The conference will feature a discussion about the latest initiatives pursued by the European Commission, such as the Competitiveness Compass and the Clean Industrial Deal. The Competitiveness Compass and the Clean Industrial Deal are intended to ensure that the EU economy grows and remains competitive in all branches of the industry and to increase the growth options for companies by reducing administrative burdens and standardizing regulations. One of the key parts of the Clean Industrial Deal is the transformation of the EU energy sector towards zero emissions, ensuring that the sector remains secure and resilient to various types of geopolitical disruptions.
