A meeting of the COSAC Troika was held at the Sejm on Sunday, 8 June. The debate of European politicians was co-chaired by Agnieszka Pomaska, chairwoman of the Sejm Committee for European Union Affairs and Tomasz Grodzki, chairman of the Senate Committee for European Union Affairs.
The event took place on the eve of the plenary session of the 73rd Conference of the Parliamentary Committee for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC).
During the meeting, the attendees approved the agenda for the COSAC plenary session. Draft comments and conclusions were also adopted to be discussed during Monday’s (9 June) meeting of the chairs of delegations of EU member states
and the European Parliament. The attendees also worked on the information concerning the 43rd COSAC bi-annual report. The debates also covered the issue of co-funding of the position of permanent member of the COSAC Secretariat for an additional two-year period, from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027.
The Troika meeting was attended by the chairs of committees for European affairs of the parliaments of three countries: the country holding the presidency in the Council of the European Union, the previous and upcoming presidency, and the European Parliament. The Danish side was represented by the chairwoman of the Committee for European Affairs of the Danish Parliament, Brigitte K. Jerkel. The Hungarian side was represented by the chairman of the Committee for European Affairs of the Hungarian Parliament, Zoltán Tessely. The European Parliament was represented by the Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Sven Simon.
